Volunteers
We are always looking for giving community members to help us with tasks at the distribution center and beyond. We need task specific helpers, we need skills like grant writers and graphic designers, we need donations sorters, member greeters and event all hands on deck. We can use your skills for one time opportunities or long term tasks. We ask that you can read and that you are ready to focus on working to help kids. We love to see individuals, youth groups, Churches, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, 4-H clubs, or anyone with a heart for kids. Let us know what you might like to do to help children in our community.
We do ask all our volunteers are open to background checks and free from any sex crimes against children in order to provide a safe environment. You also must be able to read to help sort.
Opportunities for volunteers
Sorting Clothing
We look for volunteers to sort donated clothing items by season, gender and size into large bins. This will eliminate any items that are unusable with rips or stains. It also prepares for us to assemble bundles or boxes ready for pick up by our members.
Sorting Toys + Books
We look for volunteers to sort donated toys and books. We need to sanitize the toys and review the books for appropriate content. Any toys that are broken or missing parts will need to be discarded.
Assemble Bundles
Long term volunteers can be trained to put together bundles or boxes that get distributed to our members on pick up days. These are outfits, under wear, and socks by season, gender, and size so kids have what they need.
Special Events
We need help with special events. These are busy days where we distribute Easter bundles, Back to School Bundles and Christmas Sponshorships. Volunteers will help us sort, assemble and distrubite bundles. Many hands make light work.
Special Skills
Do you have a special skill such as face painting, grant writing, a community connection, or a business that can offer a service like graphic design or printing. Contact us below and tell us how you'd like to help!
